Pacific Connection's 2007 Open House


Once a year we produce our own event, inviting clients, our business support staff, friends and potential clients. This event allows us to say thank you and focus on "New Concepts" while in the field. Our Open House also lets us experiment with new menu creations as well as presentations.

This year's concept was "The Kitchen is Breaking Out".
We brought the back-of-the-house to the front for all to see. The design was to build one large 40' x 20' station raised to counter height, and the entire kitchen was placed inside the station in full view. On the outside of the station, we placed white Chiavari bar stools with chocolate satin cushions allowing the guests the option of counter or table seating. For the table seating, bamboo chairs were placed around both the round and square tables.

In total, five kitchen work areas were built, each preparing their own small plate items. Once seated at the counter, wait staff working inside the "Ultimate Cart Station" would offer guests the different items being prepared throughout the kitchen without the guest having to move.

Along with the Kitchen, two other stations were created. The 'Salad Bar" had a "made to order" warm spinach salad and a deluxe "make your own" section.

The second station was our "Chocolate Bar". For this station, we designed a tabletop of pure chocolate and topped it with wonderful bite-sized treats.


For the look and feel of the area we used light blues and greens accented by chocolate with hints of white. Fresh cut bamboo was used for florals. Waiters dressed in blue shirts with khaki slacks reinforced the light and airy design and added a touch of whimsy.



Another goal of the event was to show off the event possibilities at the beautiful Stryker property. A wedding ceremony was framed in on the lower lawn and a king's dining table for 20 was created in the barrel room. For the king's table we used strong powerful colors and tones with the lighting, linens, chairs, china and flatware in reds, pewter and black.
